When it comes to solving the problems of waste, some of them are simply… resourcing.
At Resource Hub, we’ve been finding that a significant (and constantly increasing!) percentage of our phone calls comes from people that just need a hand for a quick project. And why not? Often the only missing ingredient to getting things done is finding someone that has the right expertise, is in the right headspace, and can jump straight in to dedicate time to the task at hand.
So we thought we’d do a quick blog post to explain how we can help you get sh*t done when you need it.
You might need an operational lead for your tendering that understands the operational requirements of new transfer stations. Perhaps you are struggling to understand requirements, grasping for time to pull together documentation, or postponing that much needed process review. These sort of things can take a lot of time out of business as usual, and often, the best thing to do is to outsource to someone else that can take care of it.
Recently we had a Far North Queensland council ring to find out how they could make sure that when they are in need of a helping hand, we will be available to provide the assistance. The Council didn’t need help with anything at the time of the call, but they knew that inevitably the end of financial year coming up would throw some curve balls their way and they would need to rope in some extra support. They wanted to make sure that they were set up and ready with additional resourcing, so our focus at this point was to ensure that we were accounted for in their budget, and set up as a supplier in their procurement processes.
Have you experienced challenges with trying to handle everything in-house during stressful times, whether that be end of financial year or otherwise? A big tip is to make sure that you are prepared and plan out your processes ahead of time, and remember that sometimes trying to handle everything in-house will just add stress to your people, and end up costing you more than outsourcing the tasks to people who are experts in the field.
If you’re a QLD council, and you’d like to rope in the Resource Hub team, you can do so through Local Buy. If you’re a commercial facility give us a shout and we can make sure we’re set up in your system ahead of time – so that when you need a hand, we’re ready to go. For NSW and VIC Councils, there are other avenues that we can go down to help meet your procurement needs, get in touch and we’ll chat through what works best for you.
Thanks,
The Resource Hub Team
