Actioning change and targeting opportunity in the resource recovery sector often requires capital, and there are some great opportunities across all states and nationally for grant funding at the moment.
As such, we thought that now would be a great time to kick off our regular video series, Trash Talk, with a guru of grant applications. Join us as we chat with Sam Wylie at Mt Isa City Council about the tips and approach that they’ve used to have multiple successful grant applications approved in the past 18 months, and what we can all do to mimic their success!
- Engage, engage, engage! Keep it interesting, remember that it’s a person that will be reading your grant application, so make sure you grab their attention from the get go to stand out from the crowd.
- Essay format works well. Each point has a key statement to be supported by facts and data, with a continued reference to a catchy introduction.
- Strong introduction, snappy conclusion. Make sure you capture them early on and hold their attention. There is no B if they don’t get past A. Tie conclusion back to initial point to encapsulate your project.
