We couldn’t be prouder of two of our very own team members for being shortlisted in the elite list of finalists for the annual Waste Innovation & Recycling Awards!
Fully realising we will likely get in trouble for putting them in the spotlight like this, we just wanted to introduce these two wonderful women, show what they mean to us at Resource Hub, and highlight how much they do for the business.
Our Founder and Director, Lacey Webb, finalist for the Leader of the Year Award.
This award recognises excellence in senior leadership and is given to a leader who has effectively shaped their business’ success, delivered financial growth, significantly and positively impacted the business’ culture, and championed the industry widely.
Lacey has over 15 years’ experience in Waste & Resource Recovery and as a CPA and industry CFO, is dedicated to leading Resource Hub’s growing team and delivering targeted solutions to its clients.
Furthermore, Lacey is one of Australia’s foremost authorities on waste levy regulation across QLD, NSW, Victoria and WA, and is a leader in defining and implementing data and process standards across the industry. She is also the Vice President of the WMRR QLD branch.
Lacey has leveraged her extensive experience in waste and finance to successfully carve out a niche offering with Resource Hub that acts as a business and compliance guide to waste industry players both new and old to untangle myriad and often changing regulations and compliance requirements.
She is supported by her team who are equally as passionate and positive about the industry, due to the way she shares her knowledge and encourages learning. The business has had a lot of growth in the past year, increasing its revenue substantially, and has also increased the headcount of the business to fulfil the huge amount of work coming in.
Lacey puts people first and foremost – the relationships she fosters, from the weighbridge to the boardroom, are all grounded in who the person she is dealing with is, and how she can help them. She has excelled as a leader both within and beyond Resource Hub, and is well-respected due to her knowledge, expertise and passion for the industry as a whole.
“It’s easy to say that Lacey has built Resource Hub from a single person to be the growing entity it now is by sheer force of will, but it is more than that – it’s been built up by knowing exactly what she wanted to provide to the industry (based on what the industry desperately needed!), and how she could provide it, along with a personality that just makes people want to do better business.”

Selena Ferguson, Graduate Consultant, Young Professional of the Year Award finalist
The award is given in recognition of a young individual who has impressed their colleagues and counterparts with their contribution and impact to their organisation, and excellence in service.
Selena started with Resource Hub after expressing interest to take the next step in her engineering career, while not wanting to go straight into engineering. With a passion for Waste, from early days at Resource Hub, Selena showed initiative to continue her growth outside of the organisation but with a target of improving the service offering that she delivered to our clients.
At 21 years of age she is the oldest soul in our team, one of the hardest workers we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and gives so much consideration to the work that she delivers to our clients and ways in which she can be involved in developing our industry as a whole.
With every job that she works on, she just naturally gravitate to creating repeatable templates and documents her learnings to not only ensure that she’s improving her capacity as a consultant but also to help new team members when they join the company. Through her contributions, she has significantly improved the repeatable manner in which we deliver work and has also helped the business expand the service offering that we’re able to provide to our clients.
“Her star shines very brightly, she is passionate and committed to everything she does but especially to this industry, and she has an incredible need to grow and learn more as time passes. So, we will give her as much growth as we possibly can within Resource Hub and we will support her in whatever that next journey is as well, all the while ensuring that we absolutely keep the connection open so that she can one day come back and run the joint.”
