Disaster Support

When disaster strikes, whether it’s floods, bushfires or severe storms, waste facilities play a critical role in community recovery. Navigating compliance, reporting exemptions and operational disruptions during these events can be overwhelming. Resource Hub steps in with practical, on-the-ground support to help councils and site operators manage disaster waste, meet regulatory obligations and keep facilities running safely and efficiently.

Supporting You Through Crisis and Recovery

Every disaster is different, but the pressure to act fast and stay compliant is always there. We don’t just advise from a distance. The Resource Hub team can step in on-site to help you run temporary waste facilities, man gatehouses, process incoming waste volumes, and keep data flowing accurately from the start. We handle everything from levy exemption advice to real-time transaction recording and post-event reporting, all while working side-by-side with your team. Our goal is simple: keep your facility operational, compliant and in control when it matters most.

Disasters don’t wait for tidy paperwork—and they don’t come with clear-cut instructions. We help you prepare, respond, and recover with documentation, training, and expert advice that adapts to the realities of disaster recovery.

Whether you’re managing temporary drop-off sites, responding to EPA requirements, or planning for future resilience, our team can step in quickly with practical, experienced support.

What types of disasters do we support?

We assist with waste-related impacts from floods, bushfires, cyclones, and other natural disasters—particularly where compliance, levy exemptions, or operational disruptions occur.

Can we help with disaster responses during the disaster?

Absolutely.  Our team is highly experienced at working with Local Government pre, post and during disaster response.  We can be boots on the ground to support BAU or temporary site operations – from deploying teams, to  managing vehicle movements and data, we support councils and regional groups in both managing and documenting temporary waste drop-off sites, State Regulator communications, and developing SOPs to support emergency use.

And post disaster, we will work with LGA’s to take learnings and embed them for future potential events.

How quickly can we assist with disaster support?

We prioritise rapid response and can be online suporting your team remotely before sdisaster strikes or have boots onthe ground on the first day of clean up.  Depending on location and scale, we can provide remote or onsite guidance immediately and arrange site support within days. Our team is highly experienced in fast-tracking practical operational and compliance support during high-pressure events.

Is disaster support only for local governments?

No. While we regularly work with councils during natural disasters, we also support contractors, private operators, and state departments responding to disaster-affected waste and recovery logistics.  Resource Hub has a comprehensive framework of support tools and routines which are already in use broadly across both QLD and NSW.
