Oscar’s role covers a wide mix of auditing, training, and waste levy exemption work, with a particular focus on NSW. His projects regularly take him across Australia, from Tasmania to regional NSW and into major capital cities for both project delivery and business development. When he’s not on the road, Oscar works remotely from his home office near Yamba, NSW, providing expert support to clients and the Resource Hub team.
Oscar has worked in the waste industry since 2012, starting as a Cadet Environmental Scientist with the City of Newcastle at Summerhill Waste Management Centre. His early work focused on environmental monitoring, compliance optimisation, and regulator liaison. After earning his Bachelor of Environmental Science & Management from The University of Newcastle, he progressed into operational and senior management roles with Maitland, Newcastle, Wollongong and Upper Hunter Shire Councils, leading teams across a full spectrum of facility sizes and operations.
In 2023, Oscar joined Resource Hub after spending two years travelling Australia with his wife and two children in their Landcruiser and caravan. Even while travelling, he continued working remotely for councils and Resource Hub. Now based near Yamba, Oscar is approaching his two-year anniversary with the team.
Outside of work, Oscar says his spirit animal is a Labrador. He loves food, any sport with a ball, and is always up for a good chat.

Kate works across some of Resource Hub’s larger and more complex projects, particularly those involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and no immediately obvious pathway to a solution. Her role combines research, strategy and practical project delivery, from writing reports and developing evidence-based recommendations to visiting waste and resource recovery facilities across regional Australia. She enjoys getting on-site, asking questions and understanding how systems work in practice before deciding how they might be improved.
As a sustainability specialist, Kate brings experience spanning government, consulting, commercial energy, circular economy and start-ups. This varied background gives her a broad perspective on sustainability, from practical questions about what can be recycled through to the infrastructure, policy and collaboration needed to support systems-level change. She is particularly skilled at making sense of complex information, identifying the bigger-picture implications and translating research into clear, realistic actions for businesses and government.
Kate holds a Master of Sustainability from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Western Sydney University, with additional training in Life Cycle Assessment and circular economy. She is naturally curious about how and why things work and believes the best solutions combine ambitious thinking with a grounded understanding of operational realities.
Outside of work, Kate loves to travel and has a habit of turning every work trip into an opportunity to explore. Whether it is finding a local swimming spot, visiting a nearby town or squeezing in some sightseeing before the flight home, she rarely visits a new place without seeing a little more than the project site.

No two days look the same for Kate. Her work spans everything from tender questionnaires and invoicing to helping clients pull data for reports and troubleshoot system issues. She spends a lot of time working closely with both the team and clients to understand their challenges and find practical solutions — the kind that actually stick.
Kate came to Resource Hub without a traditional background in the waste industry, which she sees as an advantage. A fresh set of eyes and a willingness to ask the obvious questions have a way of cutting through to better answers. She does, however, have family ties to the industry — her mum is a long timer — so she’s not exactly a stranger to the world of waste.
Outside of work, Kate is a qualified seamstress, having earned her Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design in 2019. She also holds a Heavy Rigid truck licence, which comes in handy helping her beekeeper partner transport hives up and down the east coast of Australia.
